Parks of Peachtree City
The Parks and Recreation Department offers a complete menu of leisure activities for all ages. There are instructional classes, aquatics
programs, youth and adult athletic programs, summer camps, Senior Adult activities,
special events, and holiday programs. Various
teen activities are offered through the Commission on Children and Youth. An Activities
Catalog is published six times per year and can be obtained at City Hall, the Library, the
Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatics Center, the Recreation Administration Building, and at the courtesy counters of the
Kroger Grocery Stores, located at Braelinn and Kedron Shopping Centers, and at Harris
Teeter, located at Peachtree Crossings Shopping Center.
Recreation amenities offered by the City include athletic practice and game fields, two
indoor gymnasiums, swimming pools (winter and summer), parks, picnic areas, playgrounds
and tot lots, fitness trails and exercise stations, boat ramps and docks, cart paths,
fishing ponds and lakes, BMX track, skateboard ramp, Senior Adult Center, and buildings of
various types.

Located in the McIntosh Trail Complex, the office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM
to 5:00 PM. Constructed in 1997, the building contains offices for Recreation
administrative staff and the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater staff. The Amphitheater can be reached by phone at (770)
631-0630 or fax at (770) 631-0430.

The Gathering Place is a senior citizens facility. Constructed in 1994, the facility
contains the office of the Leisure Program Coordinator- Seniors; a large multi-purpose
room; a smaller multi-purpose room equipped with a big screen television and VCR; a small
sitting room; and a kitchen with oven, refrigerator, sinks and ice maker. The multipurpose rooms can be rented for private
occasions when scheduling permits. Located in
the McIntosh Trail Complex, the office hours are the same as the Administration Building
above. This facility is used during elections as a voting place.
Flat Creek Nature Center

Established in 1997, the center is operated by the Southern Conservation Trust. There are 513 acres in the Flat Creek Nature
Preserve. The center provides environmental education programs for all ages that will
promote awareness, appreciation and knowledge of our natural world. The Center offers
various classes, camps, workshops and programs throughout the year.
The Center is adjacent to over 3 miles of paved paths as well as a 1,000 feet boardwalk
extending out into the wetlands.
The Gazebo
Used as classroom space for the Adult Education programs - English As A Second Language
and GED equivalency preparation classes during academic year.
Covered Picnic Shelter
Picnic Pavilion that is available to residents on first come, first serve basis. Can be
rented for private use. Information on renting the shelter is available at the
Recreation Administration Building.
William Davis BMX Track
A bicycle track which offers scheduled races and events. At unscheduled times, the area is
an unsupervised area and can be used by residents with proper safety equipment.
Skateboard Ramp
Consists of a half pipe and several other pieces of apparatus for skateboards and in-line
skates. No bicycles are allowed. This is a supervised and monitored area. Hours of
operation are posted and vary with the seasons, school year, holidays and daylight savings
time.
Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater
A 2,000+-seat amphitheater managed by the Peachtree City Development Authority. Schedule

This community center contains a multi-purpose classroom space and a small dance/exercise
studio equipped with barres and mirrors. This facility is not staffed; the building is
open only for scheduled classes and activities. The facility is used during elections as a
voting place.

This center was constructed in 1995. It contains two multi-purpose meeting/class rooms,
one game room. 2 gymnasiums that can be divided by an mesh curtain, rest rooms, showers,
changing areas, storage areas, a year-round 25 yard competitive heated swimming pool and a
instructional pool, as well as offices for the facility staff.
Rentals are available by reservation for meeting rooms, gym or pool.

Operated and managed by the Peachtree City Development Authority, the Tennis Center has 12
hard courts, 6 clay courts, a pro shop and offices. The center is home to ALTA and USTA
teams. The facility conducts classes on all levels and hosts tournaments and clinics
throughout the year.
