The 43-acre Best Friend Park houses a family aquatic center, the Hudlow Tennis Center and
the Gunnin Community Building.
Hudlow Tennis Center offers 16 lighted courts and a pro shop. The aquatic center has both
a lap pool and a zero depth leisure pool with an interactive play structure. The community
building contains a gymnasium and a meeting room.
Other park amenities include two baseball/softball fields and a concession/restroom area,
two outdoor multi-purpose courts, a playground, a picnic area, and a pavilion.
2. Bethesda Park

Bethesda Park is a 160-acre community park located between Lawrenceville and Lilburn. The
park features three adult softball fields, seven baseball/softball fields with a football
field overlay, six soccer fields, a playground, the Gwinnett Senior Center, a short
walking trail, a picnic pavilion, and concession/restroom areas.

This 83-acre park facility features a year-round family aquatic center that includes a
competition pool and zero depth leisure pool with interactive play structures and a water
slide. Bogan Park also has a Community Center with several multi-purpose meeting rooms, a
catering kitchen and a game room.
The park also houses a six-field baseball/softball complex with a football field overlay,
sand volleyball courts, outdoor basketball courts, picnic pavilions, three playgrounds,
restrooms throughout the park, and two miles of multi-purpose trails.
4. Cemetery Field

Six acres currently house three baseball/softball fields with a football field overlay,
concession/restroom facilities and a large bleacher section. Renovation in 2001 will
transform this park into a stand-alone football facility.

This 76-acre park contains a beautiful lake, open space and a one-mile, mulch walking
trail. In addition, Collins Hill has seven baseball/softball fields with a football field
overlay, two outdoor multi-purpose courts, a sand volleyball court, two lighted tennis
courts, two playgrounds, and a large pavilion.
The Collins Hill Aquatic Center, located across the street from the park, will feature an
indoor competition pool, a paved multi-purpose trail and an outdoor family aquatic center,
opening in fall 2000.

Situated on 51 acres in central Dacula, this newly renovated and expanded park hosts an
outdoor pool, six softball/baseball fields, a free-standing football field,
concession/restroom facilities, the Cleve Langley community room, picnic pavilion, two
playgrounds, outdoor education area, sand volleyball court, and a 1.4-mile, paved
multi-purpose trail.
7. George Pierce Park

Unspoiled wetlands and numerous athletic facilities create the focal points of this
304-acre park in Suwanee. Residents enjoy a 0.6-mile multipurpose trail, a 1.2-mile
footpath, three pavilions, a playground, a community room, and a small lake. The park also
offers five soccer fields, six youth baseball/softball fields (with programs administered
by North Gwinnett Baseball Softball Association), two adult softball fields, and a new
stand-alone football field will be complete by fall 2000.
8. Gwinnett Historic Courthouse

Built in 1885 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the courthouse sits
majestically on the square in downtown Lawrenceville. The building is open for tours,
private rentals for social and business functions, and special events such as the annual
Lighting of the Tree, theater productions and concerts.
Amenities include meeting rooms, a large courtroom area perfect for seminars and
receptions, a catering kitchen, the George Williams Room, an outdoor gazebo, and
beautifully manicured grounds.

Located in Bethesda Park, this 16,200 square foot facility serves Gwinnett Countys
senior residents age 55 and over.
The center holds several multi-purpose meeting rooms, two arts and crafts rooms, a
ballroom, a conference room, a catering kitchen, a game room, the SeniorNet computer
learning center, and other amenities.
Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation sponsors 10 Senior Recreation clubs throughout the
county. These clubs meet once a month for food and fellowship. Club members receive a
monthly newsletter listing club news, trips and other programs.
9. Harmony Grove Soccer Complex

The beautiful Jones Bridge Park borders the Chattahoochee River. The Good Age Community
Building, a large open field, a playground, two picnic pavilions, a sand volleyball court,
four soccer fields, and a concession/restroom facility make up this 30-acre park.
11. Lanier Museum of Natural

This small museum offers a look at Gwinnett County's natural environment. A reptile
collection, wildlife exhibits and a butterfly garden are favorite attractions.
The Lanier Museum provides a number of classes, programs and tours throughout the year.
12. Lawrenceville Female

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Lawrenceville Female Seminary
houses the Gwinnett History Museum. The museum features exhibits on farm life, textiles,
religion, schools, traditional music, and other displays relating to and interpreting life
in Gwinnett County.
This historic building also houses the Heritage Programming and Preservation Office which
seeks to promote heritage preservation with special events, monthly coffeehouse nights,
research assistance, and classes in subjects such as quilting, spinning, weaving, and
dulcimer.
13. Lenora Park

This picturesque park on 112 acres in Snellville offers a gymnasium, a community room, a
pavilion, a playground, a fishing lake, pastoral fields, and six baseball/softball fields.
One of the parks most popular features is a scenic 1.5 mile, paved multi-pupose
trail.
The 18-hole Disc Golf Course is unique to Lenora Park and offers fun for visitors of all
ages. Rules, scorecards and discs (for rent or sale) are available at the gymnasium.

The 43-acre Mountain Park Park offers year-round swimming, the Mountain Park Depot
community building, a mulch walking trail, a playground, a picnic pavilion, seven
baseball/softball fields with a football field overlay, lighted tennis courts, and a
concession/restroom facility.
Extensive renovation of the park is scheduled to take place beginning in mid-2000. The
community building and pool should remain open during most of the expected 18 months of
construction.
17. Pinckneyville Arts Center

Situated on 11 acres, the Pinckneyville Arts Center offers drama and fine arts workshops,
performances, storytelling, art classes, and many other cultural activities.
The center features an outdoor classroom overlooking the Chattahoochee River and a passive
recreation area with picnic tables.

The 35-acre soccer complex contains five soccer fields and a concession/restroom building,
a 1.2-mile, paved multi-purpose trail, two playgrounds, a pond, a pavilion, and several
picnic areas.
Pinckneyville Park, on 58 acres across the street from the soccer complex, will open in
late 2000 and will house a seven-field baseball/softball complex, paved multi-purpose
trails, a large pavilion with catering kitchen, a family pavilion, playgrounds, and a
roller hockey facility. A community center on 15 acres off Peachtree Industrial Boulevard
is expected to open in 2001.

This 124-acre park located in the heart of Lawrenceville contains a lake, five picnic
pavilions, a 0.8-mile, concrete walking trail, and two playgrounds. The parks also offers
seven baseball/softball fields with a football field overlay, a concession/restroom
facility, and an outdoor pool.
Eight new lighted tennis courts will open in early 2000. Construction of both a new
outdoor family aquatic center to replace the existing pool and a community
center/gymnasium should begin in 2000.

This 70-acre park in Duluth features a small lake, pavilion, playground, seven
baseball/softball fields, one football field overlay, a small community building, and a
one-mile walking trail.

This 18-hole, par 71 golf course is open to the public daily. In addition to Bermuda
fairways and bent grass greens, Springbrook offers a driving range, chipping and putting
greens, club and cart rentals, and a pro shop.
The complex also has a seasonal swimming pool and three lighted tennis courts.
23. Tribble Mill Regional Park

Set on 700 tranquil acres near Grayson, Tribble Mill Regional Park includes two lakes (a
108-acre recreation lake and a 40-acre fishing lake), a group camping area, generous
passive open space, and trails for walking, jogging, horseback riding, and mountain
biking. Lakeside pavilions provide the perfect spot for an afternoon picnic.
In mid-2000, construction will begin to improve several areas of the park. Additions to
the park will include greater access to and parking for the festival field, a family
picnic area with a pavilion, a large playground, restrooms, boat ramps for both lakes, and
a 5-mile, paved multi-purpose trail.
24. Yellow River Regional Park

The Yellow River flows through the parks approximately 565 acres. Its trails are
maintained for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians, and the park contains a large
passive area, lovely for picnics.
The mostly wooded park contains a mixture of mature upland deciduous forest, mature
riverine hardwood forest, transitional pine woodlands, and mixed pine/hardwood forest.
