Overview
Established as a memorial to U.S. veterans who served their country, this park features a museum with uniforms, weapons, medals and other items from the Revolutionary War through the Gulf War. Aircraft, armored vehicles and guns from World War I through Vietnam are also displayed. Near the park is the Museum of Aviation. An 18-hole golf course with pro shop, a swimming beach on 7,000-acre Lake Blackshear and a conference retreat center make this park popular with both vacationers and locals. Several campsites are found right near the cool lake's edge.

Hiking
The park offers two nature trails. The Yucca Trace trail interprets the sand hill environment associated with this area, while the Lake Shore Trail interprets the wetland environment.

Camping
The park offers 77 tent and trailer campsites with water and electricity, picnic tables, and grills. Most have cable TV hookups. There are three comfort stations with hot showers, two wastewater dumpstations and laundry facilities. Register at park office.
There are three areas available to organized groups. These areas are completely separate from the tent and trailer campsites, allowing groups to conduct there own programs without disturbance from park visitors. The sites consist of just cleared tent areas.
