Overview
Richard B. Russell State Park offers activities of all types.  Their cottages are new, and they held a dedication ceremony in May of 1997.  Each cottage features two bedrooms, each with two double beds and two full baths.  The kitchen is fully equipped with eating and cooking utensils, refrigerator, stove, microwave oven and a coffee maker.  The living room/dining room combination is comfortably furnished and includes television and fireplace.  A screened porch, complete with rocking chairs, offers a relaxing view of the lake.  Each cottage either has it's own dock or shared with the cottage next door.  Check out time is at 11AM  Rates are $61-81 per night depending on the time of year of your visit.  Senior and Disabled Georgia Veteran's discounts are available during certain times of the year.  For more info on the cottages click on the cottage floor plan button above or cottage info here.

The park also offers bike and walking trails for all ages.  There are a total of 4.94 miles of beautiful nature trails, which connect most of the facilities on the park.  You may take the connecting trail between the beach area and cottage area.   Most of the trail is flat and runs close to the main road.  The woods are a mixture of hardwoods and pines.  This trail is 1.5 miles in length, offers viewing of some wildlife during different times of the year, has a steel bridge near the main road, and is open to bicycle or foot traffic.  For more info on trails at this park click here.

The park also offers camping.  Camping on one of the parks twenty-eight campsites will be an experience that you will never forget.  The singing of birds and the fresh smell of cooking fills the campground.  For more info on camping at this park click here.
